Senior Backend Engineer

• You are an experienced backend engineer. You have at least 5 years of experience doing backend development work. Experience with Java/Kotlin Multiplatform is like a Swiss flag: a big plus.

• You have experience with complex, data-intensive systems. You take reliability and performance seriously.

• You are self-driven and entrepreneurial. You are happy working with limited context and can make decisions without the full picture. You should be able to identify opportunities and clarify risks while working on multiple complex projects in different functional areas. You aren’t guided by process and understand that delivering value to customers is the primary measure of success.

• You are eager to work in a fast growing startup environment, and understand what it takes to build and grow products for complex businesses. You are able to navigate the fast-paced environment of a startup.

• You are a strong independent communicator. You know how to articulate goals and direction clearly through constructive dialogue and collaboration in English. You drive innovation through open dialogue and work with the team to increase efficiency, quality of the product and value to the customer.

• We are unable to offer relocation assistance. We are only looking for candidates based in the Netherlands who possess a valid working permit.

• This is an on-site position in Amsterdam, and requires you to work from our beautiful office in central Amsterdam at least 3 days per week.
